Treehugger.com is simply a great site - both in terms of design and content. I find it easy to navigate, easy to find what I need, and full of compelling and useful content. Tough to top that combo in a website.
They stay true to their audience, as well. The stories are well conceived and the writing is polished. Functionality abounds on the website to make it easy to navigate and search.
Well done!

I liked the new RocketTheme for this month so much that I installed it on The Design Mission late last night and early this morning. Some slick features, and some content that still needs to be moved about or axed here. I need to update the work samples and the whole information architecture in use. Still, for an hour’s work, I’m very happy with the new look.
I also want to upgrade a few of the components in use here, including this one. MojoBlog appears to be a good blog tool for Joomla.

The blog is now the home page. This is a sign of the new direction for The Design Mission. It’s been a long time since I’ve taken the time to write a blog, which seems to be an all too common theme here. Be that as it may, it is what it is.
So why the change in our structure? It’s time to emphasize the new direction of TDM - less focus on our past work and desire for clients, largely because we aren’t desiring new clients. As of May 2007, we’ve stopped taking new clients. (A few snuck in there due to negotiations at the time.) Instead, we’re working nearly completely with non-profits like The Nevada Wilderness Project, Ghost Ranch and the Kings River Fisheries. Plus work for my church, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura.
Work with meaning = Job satisfaction.
Some more development is needed on the Advocacy Tool I started back in July for the Nevada Wilderness Project and a new release of that will be coming soon. I also hope to have a new design up here, soon, with new content to match the changes mentioned above.
Stay tuned….
