I like Apple products, and liked my iPhone on Day I of using it. However, it is really the addition of some of the new apps with iPhone 2.0’s software update that have made the iPhone a complete replacement for my PDA.
Before I had my iPhone, I was taking a Palm Pilot E2 Tungsten, cell phone, and iPod to work each day. As a project manager, I need a good task management tool. I got by with Notes and iCal to start with, but missed a task management tool I had on my old Palm Pilot. With the roll out of the iTunes App Store, things changed. Read More…
It took us about 5 months to complete, but only because we were slow at taking on “the next step” of the project from time to time, but finally, our graywater project is completed. We now have an alternate drain line for our laundry that runs under the house, out the back and to a hillside. Every time we do our laundry now, we are watering a different level of the hillside’s many fruit trees and shrubs. (Nearly everything we have planted there will provide us with food, too.) It’s awesome!
Here’s a breakdown of the project. First of all, major props go out to Devin Slavin of Abundance in Balance for overseeing, planning and helping us execute this project. He helped not only do it, but do it right.

As you can see, the hillside has some terraces in it and plenty of slope. Using this slope to our advantage for watering was what made this project seem like such an obvious thing to do.
Ok, so I NEVER click on banner ads on websites. Now I’ll have to say I almost never do as I just saw one that intrigued me and took me to a cool site - WeCanSolveIt.org.
Once again, I’ve needed to post a note saying we aren’t taking on new clients due to the large amount of work we already have lined up and underway. It’s a nice problem to have, but at present, I’m still overwhelmed with the existing work load.
This is why the blog hasn’t had much attention for the past month or so. I’ve got two pro bono projects running - a new site for VCE.org and one for C-P-R.net, some work on my Advocacy tool to do, continued SEO work for Ghost Ranch, and some also now with Guard-Dogs.com. I’m also working on a new website for author Lee Green, and another for MDH Skin Care. Then there are the other support issues for existing clients… That’s just what is current, there’s more in the queue. Balance is returning here, although slowly.
This year we have again used TerraPass to purchase carbon offsets for our home, cars and air travel. While this isn’t my idea of an ideal solution, or even a solution at all really, it is at least a step in the right direction. Read More…
