The Nevada Wilderness Project was started by a Patagonia employee after a successful internship to map and survey public lands near the Patagonia Reno Distribution Center. (Learn more about Patagonia's environmental internship programs.) Today, the NWP helps document, map, and get legal recognition of the vast wilderness areas in Nevada. They are very successful at what they do!Project Summary | visit the site ^ This website was rebuilt and customized during an internship sponsored by Patagonia. We continue to support the NWP with our work and also have donated the bulk of our environmental donations and pro bono work to this fine organization. We urge you to do the same!
Nevada Wilderness Project Wild Nevada Calendar With many events being coordinated all over the state, an events calendar was a must for the site's redesign. Field Work Land surveys are an important part of what the Nevada Wilderness Project does. By going out and photographing, surveying and documenting the vast Nevada wilderness, the NWP is able to help show that there areas that meet the definition of wilderness and that need to be protected. We used Gallery2 to help make this easy for them. Advocacy In July of 2007, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to do a second internship for the Nevada Wilderness Project. We created a new template -- the one highlighted above -- and also a new Joomla Component called "Advocacy." The Advocacy Component allows staff to create an email campaign or letter writing campaign. |
